Here's how we can help you:

Intuitive Consultation:

No matter how hard you try, if you or the members of the IEP or 504 Team don't "get it", then the intervention process seems to move in circles without direction, understanding, nor effective intervention.  First and foremost, our team "gets kids", by this I mean we come to the table with an intuitive understanding of our clients' children through an evidence-based approach: assessments, evaluation tools, and classroom based learning guides our consultation support. We are all well-experienced in the IEP / 504 process as "insiders" and have extensive background as staff members, administrators, and instructional coaches.  Nevertheless, we all have discovered that our insights and understanding of special needs kids comes from an enlightened, tuned-in perspective. We support our clients from a balance of head and heart, intuition and experience.

Our consultation work not only makes sense of the IEP and 504 procedures and process, but more importantly, we help our clients come to a revitalized understanding of their children.  Complex kids require a new school of thought, outside the box, for so many of our kids are square pegs within round holes and struggle due to this dynamic.  Our work is based upon the theme:  "Love Understanding, and Other Best Practices".  Simply put, it's time to appreciate the peg, and fix the hole!

Providing balance between intuition and experience ...

IEP and 504 Plan Consultation (Package #1) and Advocacy (Package #2 or #3):

Consultating or negotiating effective, well-designed IEP / 504 plans is what we do!  Through 25-plus years of experience highlighting intuitive mediation skills and first-hand knowledge of every aspect of the special services maze, our services are here for you through consultation or direct advocacy.  Remember:  No one should ever go it alone.

We are very successful with complex cases as well as addressing simple questions!  We will be able to help you move through the negotiation process with confidence and a strategic plan!

ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, & Autism Spectrum:

Expertise in health-impairment and medical conditions significantly impacting learning; majority of our clients have children with ADD/ADHD or on the Autism Spectrum. These exceptional children have gifts and talents requiring extraordinary learning conditions and beyond boiler-plate accommodations; a one-size-fits-all format will not work for kids who are exemplify a "square peg in a round hole".

Behavior & Instructional planning:

Collaborating with school personnel in developing appropriate goals, objectives, and behavior management systems toward academic success. Most students achieve leaps & bounds when consistency and appropriate follow-through are well coordinated within a well written Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) in alignment with the evaluation and FBA.  Expertise in curriculum, instruction, and an intuitive understanding of children guides our practice.

School Selection:

Consulting with parents through public & private school choice aligned with each child's needs and long-range plans.  Serving families pursuing both Special Ed. and Gifted Education placement.

Pushing the process toward mutual understanding and

evidence-based decision making.

Workshops & Presentations:

Empowering audiences through powerful skills in support of effective parent advocacy.  Presentations open doors for parents who have struggled in the past with the special education process.  User-friendly strategies, inspiring stories, and laughter highlight these workshops:

"The New IEP - 504 Paradigm: Love, Understanding, and Other Best Practices"

"The Davis Hypothesis on Autism:  A Sense-ational Life  ..."

"Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Special Education But Didn't Know Who or What to Ask!"

"Every Child is a Blessing: Appreciative Advocacy (Strength-based IEP)"

"Opening Doors for Private School Kids Within Public Schools: The Child Find Process"

Staff Development & Coaching:

"Prevention is the Best Medicine". Through a fresh perspective called APPRECIATIVE ADVOCACY, teachers and staff are lifted from the old paradigm of "fixing the broken child" (no child is left behind)  to a strength-based position of instruction and program development.  Our guiding principle always leads us down a course of "mutual understanding".

Workshops and individualized coaching support collaboration, genuine partnership, mutual understanding, and a true child-centered approach to the special needs classroom.  Instead of Due Process, our work together supports the gift within each child and lifts the IEP and 504 process toward a new level of understanding rather than just covering one's ass through compliance and "meeting standard".
